Relation to Carolyn Ellis
Throughout the project we have been referring to Carolyn Ellis' book The Ethnography. Specifically, in my project, I have been making use of the section "interactive interviewing." On page 64 Carolyn Ellis makes a point that in interview should be as much research as it is participation and in each of my interviews I have been actively trying to implement this. Instead of just asking questions and prodding for responses, I made a point to also participate, which is ironic since it is my own interview. By doing this I not only keep my interviewee entertained, but I also add to the conversation making my interviewee more likely to add to the conversation. Ultimately, my interviews became more like conversations when referring to Ellis' book. This book serves as a good medium between a textbook and a book to aid in the process of writing an auto-ethnography.
